The Carillon of bells
During 2016/2017, Paddy Buchanan worked alongside fellow Musician Davy Cattanach and Artist Janet McEwan , as part of the Aberdeen LOOKAGAIN festival, to compose 30 minutes of new music for the Carillon of Bells housed in the clock tower of St.Nicholas Kirk, Aberdeen. The music that Buchanan and Cattanach wrote was performed by Ronald Leith, who has been playing the Carillon of Bells since 1978 and was recorded by Paddy Buchanan, who climbed to the top of the bell tower with microphones and recording equipment in order to capture the performance.
